THE FRENCH ACADEMY OF SURGERY CREATES ITS FOUNDATION

As heirs to illustrious French surgeons such as Ambroise Paré, Georges Mareschal, François Gigot de La Peyronie, Dominique-Jean Larrey or, more recently, Henri Mondor, François de Gaudart d’Allaines, Robert Merle d’Aubigné, the Académie Nationale de Chirurgie wants to contribute to meeting the public health challenges we are facing.

Never before have the risks to human health been so great on a global scale.

But never before have the prospects for progress in the service of everyone’s health been so strong.

In this context, the National Academy of Surgery wishes to mobilize as many people as possible by creating the Foundation of the Academy of Surgery, under the aegis of the Foundation of the Academy of Medicine.

The Academy entrusts its Foundation with the responsibility of providing it with the resources for its dual mission:

->to ensure that the knowledge and know-how of French surgery is disseminated to as many people as possible, in France and throughout the world;
->strengthen the sharing of surgical progress in France and around the world.

With its foundation, the French Academy of Surgery aims to contribute to saving more lives and to repairing or avoiding more disabilities.
